Heel Pain

Heel pain is a common foot complaint that we see often at our Camberwell clinic. It can develop due to various issues, one common cause being Plantar fasciitis. Another common cause is Tarsal tunnel syndrome. These both have similar symptoms so it’s important you get an accurate diagnosis. After listening to your concerns and conducting a thorough assessment, our podiatrists will apply their expert knowledge to provide a treatment plan.

People experience pain in different parts of the feet, and their causes can vary widely. Diagnosis with a podiatrist is important to correctly address the issue.

The forefoot area is complex, made up of multiple joints, tendons, ligaments, nerves and small muscles. Any one of these structures can be injured. Forefoot pain may be caused by the following:

  • Morton’s Neuroma
  • Joint capsulitis/overload
  • Ligament tears
  • Joint degeneration
  • Stress fracture

The arch has many structures that can be injured. Pain in this area can be caused by one or a combination of different conditions, including:

  • Plantar fascial pain
  • Posterior tibial tendon dysfunction/tear
